Russian artist Dasha Fursey, in collaboration with Paris-based World Institute, is pleased to present a limited edition t-shirt to commemorate the centenary of the Russian Revolution of 1917.

The artist-signed t-shirt is taken from a painting from Fursey’s series “Pioneer Girl”, depicting the equivalent of a Soviet girl scout, munching on a sensual Red Square-topped mushroom.

In October 2017, Fursey participated in a photo-shoot where she modeled her own t-shirt at the SOLARIS space, a recently restored theatre dating from the 1920s, located near Menilmontant in Paris. The architecturally art-deco SOLARIS Theatre (currently run by Le Red Studio), historically a former communist haunt previously known as the Salle Lenin, and now closed for nearly two decades, has the feeling of a time capsule that serendipitously houses the Soviet-themed subject.

Under the artistic direction of Paris-based photographer Liu Shu, the images evokes Russian Constructivism through an interplay with the architectural lines and features of the space.

The launch of the project concurs with the recent opening of the online boutique by World Institute, that will distribute various editions, art-design works and miniatures on its online site, including works by Paa Joe, La Fratrie, Onishi Yasuaki, Studio Drift, as well as distributing products from the Little Sun project created by the studio of artists Olafur Eliasson and engineer Frederik Ottesenand with a mission to bring sustainable energy to all.
